How much space does a booth need?

Less than most people expect. The Saloon is about 4 ft wide by 9 ft long, the Steampunk and Art Deco booths about 4 by 8 ft, and the open-air Red Carpet shoots need roughly a backdrop's width plus room for a crowd to pose. Add a few feet beside the booth for the prop stand and hat rack. Every booth's page lists its footprint, and we'll pick the exact spot with your venue contact before the day.

What are the power requirements?

One standard 110V outlet within 50 feet of the booth, or an extension cord that reaches one. That's it — no special circuits, no generator. The Art Deco booth needs an ordinary three-prong outlet.

How long do setup and teardown take?

We arrive one to two hours before your start time and are ready before your first guest. Teardown [to confirm — teardown time, e.g. 'takes about 45 minutes'], and we never pack up while guests are still in line.

Do you travel outside Kansas City, and what does it cost?

We do. The rate card covers Kansas City and the 57 surrounding towns listed on the home page at no extra charge. Beyond that we add a travel fee [to confirm — travel fee basis, e.g. '$1.50 per mile past 40 miles'], and the Tardis and Time Machine have gone as far as Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas and Hollywood — ask and we'll quote it.

What happens if the event runs long?

Tell the attendant and we keep shooting. Extra time is billed at the booth's listed extra-hour rate ($100–$150 depending on the booth), so there's never a surprise — and if you already know the party will run late, booking the extra hour up front is cheapest.

How do deposits and cancellations work?

A $200 deposit reserves your date; the balance is due 14 days before the event, by check, money order or card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover). Date changes are free with 30 days' notice, subject to availability. If you cancel, the deposit isn't refunded, but it can be applied to a future rental booked within 90 days.
